What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website work properly and provide information to site owners.

Cookies we use

• Essential cookie — "cookieConsent" (first-party, 180 days). Remembers your accept/decline choice. Required for the consent banner to work; cannot be turned off.
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) — "_ga", "_ga_*" (first-party, up to 2 years). Used to count visits and traffic sources so we can improve the site. Set only after you click Accept. If you decline, Google Consent Mode still sends anonymous, cookieless, aggregated pings — no analytics cookies are created.
• Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) — e.g. "__gads", "__gpi", "_gcl_*" (first-party) and Google's own third-party cookies. Used to show and measure ads and support personalised advertising. The AdSense script loads on every visit, but advertising cookies are set only after you click Accept. If you decline, Google serves non-personalized ads and stores no advertising cookies.

How consent works (Google Consent Mode v2)

On your first visit, all non-essential cookie storage is denied by default. We use Google Consent Mode v2, so Google tags load in a cookieless state until you make a choice. Clicking Accept grants storage for analytics and advertising, which enables personalised ads. Clicking Decline keeps non-essential storage denied, and Google serves non-personalized ads instead. Your choice is stored for 180 days. To change it later, clear the "cookieConsent" cookie in your browser settings — the banner will reappear.

Managing cookies

You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on our site. You can also clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Declining non-essential cookies does not affect the calculator — the site works fully either way.

Third-party services

We use Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense. These services are governed by Google's own privacy policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
